New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily shut down a vital feature which allows you to alter your Aadhaar card's address without certificate of address.
UIDAI permits cardholders with Aadhaar cards to change their address without needing any paperwork. Aadhaar card holders can update their address, provided they consent to the authentication of the address verifier. An address verifier could be a friend, relative, landlord or family member who can allow the Aadhaar card user to make use of their address as proof.
UIDAI has stopped using this feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card Holder via tweets that the ability to update the address on the Aadhaar Card using an Address Validation Form is no longer available. UIDAI has requested the Aadhaar issuer to notify users that they can change their address using a current PoA document.
Dear Residents: The address Validation Letter service has been removed until further notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
